Hi Friends! I love to use layers on my cards and projects, so when I saw that this month’s “Around the World on Wednesday” blog hop theme was “Layer Up” I KNEW EXACTLY what I wanted to create!
About TEN years ago I had made a card and scrapbook page with flowers using layered circles; you can check out that blog post HERE and I even have a video HERE. I always loved the look of those layered flowers, so that was my inspiration for today’s card:
This card was so much FUN to make!
Aside from my Granny Apple Green card base, the first layer on my card is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock that I ran through the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.
Next, I stamped my sentiment from the “Through it Together” set and cut it, along with another piece of Basic White and Granny Apple Green card stock, using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. This layered sentiment piece was glude to front of the card and then it was time to add some pretty flowers!
I used the Dandy Wishes dies to cut flowers from my Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo and Pumpkin Pie card stock. Each layer is stacked together with a Stampin’ Dimension and the red and orange flowers have one extra top layer. Once I glued them to my card I used the tips of my scissors to bend up the end of the petals to add extra dimension.
The die-cut leaves have some nice texture to them, thanks to the Bark 3D folder. Some leaves were glued onto my card and some were adhered using mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. A simple black bow and some of our gorgeous embellishments finished off my card!Product List
I hope you were inspired by my card and this month’s AWOW “Layer Up” theme! We have amazing & talented demonstrators sharing their layering ideas, so be sure to check out their blog by clicking on the links below!
