My Convention Cards

July 19, 2014 3 Comments

Hi Friends!  It’s hard to believe the Stampin’ Up! Convention ends today – it always goes so fast!  The card I’m sharing with you today is my swap while in SLC.  If you’re not sure what a swap is, we simply swap card fronts with other demonstrators so that we come back home with an assortment of different cards.  I use these cards on my display boards for my events throughout the year.  It’s also great to do the swaps because quite often I’ll get cards using stamp sets and accessories I don’t have and of course, I have tons of inspiration for my future projects.

I used the “Smack Down” technique for my swaps because it’s quick and of course, I love the results.
I made up a slew of ‘One Sheet Wonders’ (in other words I stamped full 8
1/2″ x 11″ sheets of Whisper White card stock with this technique)
then
I just cut them up as I needed them.  This saved me a ton of time (I made 100 cards).  I used a lot of different colours for my swap cards, to create a variety to pass out during convention and I
was soooo pleased with the results.  My video for the Smack Down Technique can be found HERE.

This card received some extra attention and love because I made it for my friend Ann, who is also my BDA (Business Development Advisor) at the Stampin’ Up! home office.

Enjoy the day and HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
