Stampin’ Blends Vellum Technique with Gold Texture

April 26, 2021 1 Comment

Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice weekend! They sure go by fast though, don’t they? Yesterday I filmed my video demonstration of card #2 featuring the Stampin’ Blends Vellum Technique using the “Better Places” stamp set (new host reward set available May 4th).

While the video was uploading I spent a few hours outside cleaning up my front flower beds. It was 22′, blue skies and sunny and absolutely GORGEOUS! Today I’ve got my video finished & uploaded it for you…

I just LOVE how this card turned out! I love the colours, the texture from the Painted 3D embossing folder and the Gilded Leafing. Imagine using greens and reds or shades of blues to make Christmas cards using this technique! Or pinks and reds with heart stamps for Valentine’s, anniversary or wedding cards! The possibilities are endless.

Here’s my original card, using different colours of Stampin’ Blends Markers…

Using 99% Rubbing Alcohol (isopropyl) makes a huge difference for this technique (vs 70%). You can also use our Water Painters or Stampin’ Spritzer or even a sponge instead of a paint brush to apply the alcohol to the vellum. You’ll get a different look for each but they’re all going to be beautiful!

Inside of card.

Products used on these cards that will be available on May 4, 2021 from our new Annual Catalogue are:

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
