Stampin’ Blends Vellum Technique

April 23, 2021 14 Comments

Hi Friends! I am super duper excited to share today’s card with you! There is a technique that is really popular right now, which combines our Stampin’ Blends markers with our Vellum card stock and some rubbing alcohol (isopropyl).

Our Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers) are AMAZING and you can do so much with them! Last year I created an online class using several Stampin’ Blends techniques with the “Under the Umbrella” stamp set. You can still access this FREE class tutorial by clicking HERE.

Today’s I’m kickin’ things up a notch by incorporating 99% rubbing alcohol with my Stampin’ Blends & vellum and the results are GORGEOUS!

For this card I used some new product that is coming out in the 2021-2022 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue, available May 4th. That BEAUTIFUL tree die cut is from the “Inspired Canopy” die collection (#155963) which is also part of the “Inspired Thoughts Bundle” (#155529). I also used some dies, such as the birds, which are from the new “Beautiful Trees” die collection (#155840) which is part of the “Beauty of Friendship Bundle” (#155834) & “Beauty of the Earth Suite” (155843). These are amongst my FAVOURITE products in the new catalogue! Some of the Stampin’ Blends that I used on today’s card are also new 2021-2023 In Colours (Polished Pink, Soft Succulent & Fresh Freesia).

I pulled out the “Seaside View” stamp set (currently on our Last Chance list) for the sentiment, which I think is ideal for this card. On the inside I’ll stamp another sentiment from this set “Hope you have a relaxing day”.

Are you ready to see how easy this card is to make and learn how to create this gorgeous background technique? Click on the video below!

Here is my original card, using the same products and technique:

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Bermuda Bay & added a bit of gold twine behind it…the gold really looks fabulous with the Stampin’ Blends Vellum Technique!

As I mentioned in my video, I have two more cards featuring this technique that I want to share with you and each will have its own video demonstration. Stand by for those – I hope to have them ready for you soon!

Have a wonderful weekend, stay well and have FUN STAMPING & CREATING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Hi Tina. I LOVED this card. I don’t have alcohol markers but I have the Stamp and Write markers (water based I believe) and am wondering if you could do a similar look using them but with water rather than alcohol. Thoughts please.

Hi Mary Anne! Only the alcohol markers will work for this technique. However, if you use the stampin’ write markers on a clear block, silicone mat or window sheet and and mist with WATER and then press onto paper (especially water colour card stock) you’ll get a BEAUTIFUL background! Something to try and play with anyway. I hope this helps. Have fun!
