Hi Friends! I hope you’re having a great weekend so far! My intention was to have a new video up for you on Friday but my plans changed. As some of you may know, each fall I cook all the meals for the “Giant Bluefin Tuna Charters“, owned and operated by Brian’s sister Chandra and brother-in-law John. I’ve been cooking for their charters now for four years and truly enjoy it. We’re normally solidly booked through to October and this year was no exception – however, thanks to the world’s current situation, ALL of this season’s charters had to be cancelled. Ouch. A huge blow for tourism and for families like John and Chandra’s. However, Chandra has booked a few charters for locals and other Canadians, which is good. Early Friday morning I got a call from Chandra asking if we could make a last minute change to the menu for Saturday’s charter. Their clients were now requesting a seafood meal, which includes my seafood chowder. Of course I said ‘no problem’! So off I went to town to buy all the ingredients – cream, wine, clams, shrimp and from a local fisherman, I bought fresh haddock and the most beautiful Digby scallops I’ve ever seen! Once I got back home I started cookin’! By 2pm I had the chowder made and a pan of fresh buns, as well as sausage rolls using Octoberfest sausages (made in town at Tony’s Meats) which I wrapped in my favourite butter pastry. Whew! By the time I did up all the dishes I was too pooped to stamp, let alone start on my video. So yesterday morning, it was first on my agenda of things to do!
I have been so anxious to use a new bundle from Stampin’ Up!, called “Love of Leaves” and it is absolutely GORGEOUS! I knew I wanted to use these stamps with the Joseph’s Coat Technique and it occurred to me that I could also incorporate the Kissing Technique too. I love the script stamp from the “Very Versailles” set and it worked perfectly for the kissing technique. I think the “Buffalo Check” stamp would also look super cool to ‘kiss’ with the “Love of Leaves” stamps too.
I decided to use the “Beautiful Autumn” stamp set and coordinating punches to embellish my card and they were a perfect combination with the “Love of Leaves” images. The “Take Your Pick Tool” came in handy to turn the edges of the leaves, giving them some dimension!
I actually ended up making TWO cards in my video. The second one, shown above, was super quick and easy, using the die-cuts that I didn’t use on my first card.
Just look at those colours! WOW! Combining the “Kissing Technique” with the “Joseph’s Coat Technique” is truly a match made in heaven! Ready to see how I made these cards? Here’s my video demonstration for you…
