One Sheet Wonder Card & Labels | Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

October 14, 2020 15 Comments

Hi Friends! I’m excited to share another “Around the World on Wednesday” blog hop with you! This monthly blog hop features demonstrators from around the world, each one of is in a different time zone – pretty cool, hey?

Our theme this month is ‘something happening around our part of the world‘ right now.I decided to focus on all the changing colours of the trees, which is truly spectacular this time of year!

I live about an hour away from the world-renowned “Cabot Trail” in Cape Breton (Nova Scotia). I’ve gone along the Cabot Trail twice now and we hope to do it again this month. The scenery is gorgeous, especially during Autumn – watch the video below and you’ll see why I love it:

In fact, now through October 17th is the annual “Celtic Colours International Festival” and due to the Covid situation, this is a virtual event anyone can enjoy! This lifestream features Celtic musicians and more and you can check it all out HERE.

So with all the beautiful colours surrounding me at the moment, I can’t help but be inspired to create with my “Love of Leaves” stamp set. If you follow my blog and YouTube channel, you KNOW how much I LOVE this set because I haven’t been able to put it down since I got it! I would have to say that the “Love of Leaves” bundle has EASILY been my most used product from the 2020-2021 Mini Catalogue thus far.

Today’s project is a one-sheet wonder for my cards as well as my coordinating mailing labels & envelopes! To make my cards I stamped an 8 1/2″ x 11″ Whisper White card stock, covering the entire piece with all the leaf images.

The inks I used were: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss and Crumb Cake. The sentiments were stamped with Black Memento ink.

  • Once stamped, I cut my card stock down the 8 1/2″ side at 2 3/4″, 2 3/4″ again, leaving a third strip 3″ wide.
  • I then cut along the 11″ side at 3 3/4″, 3 3/4″ again, leaving 3 1/2″.
  • What I am left with are six pieces that measure  2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and three pieces that measure 3″ x 3 1/2″.
  • I will use these to make a total of nine cards!

I placed each cut piece of card stock onto my Stamparatus to stamp my sentiments. I used the “Happiest of Birthdays” set as well as the “Statement of the Heart” set (retired) for some members in my Serene Stampers team.

The card bases I used were Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss. I glued a strip of Designer Series Paper (2″ x 5 1/4″) along the side and then adhered my stamp piece on top. Easy peasy and I love how all the cards turned out!

I made more cards using the Love of Leaves stamps for the one-sheet wonder, but this time I used the 2020-2022 inks and DSP and the “Round of Applause” set for the sentiment…

Here you can see how I’ve stamped my entire 8 1/2″ x 11″ Whisper White card stock with the 2020-2022 Ink Colour ink pads. After I cut each piece I glued it to my Basic Black card bases, with a 2″ x 5 1/4″ strip of DSP. I stamped the sentiment onto some brushed metallic card stock, which I then cut out using a scalloped circle die.

A little bit of ribbon and a rhinestone finished these cards off nicely! These cards are for members of my Serene Stampers team who won gifts from my prize patrols, so I wanted to make fun labels for the envelopes…

I ran my label sheet through my printer and then stamped exactly the same as you would for a one-sheet wonder.  For today’s cards, I used “Prize Patrol” but I also do this with my return address labels.

I also used the ‘address line’ stamp from “Ornamental Envelopes” and I’ve been loving how sharp this looks! The coordination of the cards, envelopes and return address labels look amazing together!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Such pretty cards. I love all the colours you used and how you showed us how you made lovely coordinating labels and envelopes. Excellent read.

Speaking of the Cabot Trail, Al and I are bringing our trailer out East and our friends will be joining us. It has been their dream to visit the East coast. Looking on the map of Heatherton, I see you are at a spot in which we would like to camp and day trip the Trail just with the truck. Are you seeing where I am going with this? Yes, I want to finally meet you. I'll be in touch, of course. Need to get my tour guide so I can book a spot for the trailer.
