Open Book Easel Cards | VIDEO

April 15, 2020 22 Comments

Hi Friends! I am soooo excited to share today’s project with you! At least a year ago (maybe two) I stumbled across a beautiful card online called a “Bookatrix” and I was completely smitten with it. However, it used book dies that we don’t carry, but I was determined to recreate this card on my own. I searched online for more ideas and different ways to make a bookatrix and I  tweaked it using our Stampin’ Up! products. I also converted the original large card design for our standard 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ cards, so that they could fit inside our envelopes. After some trial and error, I was thrilled with my final version of this open book easel card and I’ve been itchin’ to share this with YOU! Well, wait no longer my sweet friends, my video demonstration – with lots of card samples – is finally ready!

April 26, 2020 Update: I’ve mailed my Open Book Easel cards, in our standard envelopes, and the recipients received them perfectly and they weren’t squished. I did have to pay a bit more in postage, but not too much.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Thank you for this tutorial. I made 2 of these cards today. They were as scary to make as I orginally thought- obviously clear instructions. I can see why you find them a bit addictive. I will be making more.

Tina, I love this card and your directions were clear and precise. I made the card exactly like yours and mailed it in our clear acetate folder because it was for a very dear friend. She was blown away with the card, and I couldn't believe this, but a few days later I received a beautiful hydrangea bush. My friend ordered it through a florist. Can you believe that? I just wanted you to know how well it was received. I love this card. Thank you so much.
